Local Toyota dealership goes to 24-hour recall service

A local Toyota dealer is expanding service hours, and the Portland service center will be open 24 hours a day, as dealerships manage recalls on several models.
Berlin City Toyota, with dealerships here and in and Gorham, New Hampshire announced Friday that they have expanded their service hours to expedite the repair of vehicles affected by the recall.
The dealerships said that parts from the manufacturer are arriving daily at both dealerships and the Portland Toyota service center will be open 24 hours a day.
In addition to the extended hours, the announcement said, the dealerships are expanding shuttle service, offering a multi-point inspection, a courtesy wash and vacuum and offering customers a free oil and filter change.
“Most of the people we have seen in the dealership want answers and want reassurance that their vehicles will be taken care of and that they can once again feel confident with their Toyota vehicle.” said Eric Johnson, General Manager at Berlin City's Portland location.
The dealership is also updating its website daily with the latest Toyota Recall information.
“We want consumers to know that Berlin City Toyota is here to help.” said Ed Watson, Berlin City Toyota in Gorham General Manager. “We will do what we can to give peace of mind in a difficult time."
